Big Blue Foundation is a non-profit foundation dedicated to supporting Gulfport High School's athletic programs. Our mission is to provide resources and funding to ensure that student-athletes have the necessary tools and opportunities to succeed both on the field and in the classroom. Why We Exist
Rising costs in high school athletics continue to create challenges for teams and programs striving to provide the best experience for student-athletes. Expenses such as equipment, uniforms, travel, facility maintenance, and training resources can quickly exceed available school budgets. The Big Blue Foundation exists to help bridge that gap by providing supplemental funding, ensuring that every athlete has access to the tools and opportunities they need to compete, develop, and succeed both on and off the field.
How Funds aRE Distributed
Applications Submitted
Athletic programs begin the process by submitting detailed requests that outline their specific needs. These applications may include funding for equipment, travel expenses, facility upgrades, or other resources that directly support student-athletes. By clearly identifying what is needed and why, coaches and program leaders help ensure that every request is aligned with improving the overall athletic experience.
Board Reviews
Once applications are received, the foundation’s board carefully evaluates each request. This review process considers factors such as impact, urgency, and how the funding will benefit student-athletes across the program. The goal is to make thoughtful, responsible decisions that maximize the effectiveness of every dollar raised.
Funds Distributed Equitably
After approval, funds are distributed to programs in a way that promotes fairness and broad support across all teams. The foundation strives to ensure that resources are allocated where they can make the greatest difference, helping create opportunities for every athlete to succeed. This equitable approach strengthens the entire athletic community at Gulfport High School.
